At Raz Tutoring, our team is more than a list of qualifications. We are mentors, innovators, and lifelong learners, committed to unlocking each student's potential. The Raz Tutoring team brings together experienced educators who are committed to helping students reach their full academic potential.
Mr. Z
STEM Educator & Alternative Education Specialist
Mr. Z brings over two decades of experience in education, focusing on alternative education. This includes nine years of teaching math and science to middle school and high school students with learning differences. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Master’s in Curriculum Design and Educational Technology, and is certified in Computer Education with an emphasis on distance learning.
Mr. Z specializes in math and science for high school and college students, particularly those with learning differences. He has extensive experience working with students who are twice exceptional (2e), ADHD, dyslexic, gifted, or managing anxiety and depression.
Outside of teaching, Mr. Z enjoys programming, whitewater rafting, graphic design, CNC machining, maker culture, and game design.
Dr. O
Humanities Scholar & Mentor
Dr. O is a scholar of Ancient History and Mediterranean Archaeology. His research focuses on the role of warfare in ancient Greek society, particularly around warrior identity, inequality, and sociopolitical power structures. He participates yearly in archaeological fieldwork in Greece and Italy since 2009 and specializes in archaeometallurgy, with a focus on bronzeworking and ancient arms and armor. He is also an avid professor who enjoys nothing more than conversing with his students and see them grow into their own.
Dr. O offers tutoring in all upper level high school and college English, History, and other humanities courses. He also provides mentorship in navigating the complexities of education that undergraduate and graduate students may face.
On his own time, Dr. O loves to travel, hold cookouts, and play grand strategy games.
Mr. Jilani
English, History & Test Prep Instructor
Mr. Jilani is a seasoned educator with a Master’s degree from Syracuse University and a professional background in journalism, having joined numerous national television programs as a political guest speaker. Beyond journalism, he has always had a passion for education, constantly seeking out opportunities to teach students in a variety of subjects.
Mr. Jilani works with students of all ages in English, History and Journalism, as well as Math up to Algebra II. He also specializes in test preparation, helping students ace their SATs and AP classes.
